Introduction

Trident Racing Supplies is committed to protecting and respecting your privacy, and aims to adhere to the requirements of GDPR relating to the collection, processing & protection of your personal data. This policy sets out the basis on which any personal data that you provide to us will be dealt with by us, and describes :

The data we collect from you

When you open either a credit account or a card payment account, we need to know your name, address, contact telephone numbers, VAT number where necessary and card payment details. We will also have your email address, if that is how you make contact with us. We use this information to enable us to run your account smoothly, and to make sure that you receive your orders promptly.

Sensitive data

The most sensitive data we hold is your payment card information. We will only keep this if you request that we do, and if you do request that we keep it on file, it will be deleted either because you later instruct us to do so, or the card expires, or a period of 6 months passes during which we do not hear from you, whichever of these events occurs first.
Whether stored manually or electronically, we will take all reasonable steps to keep your data safe and secure, and we will ensure that the data is accessed only by those who have a legitimate interest in doing so.

Use of your data

Primarily, we use your personal data to enable us to run your account smoothly, and make sure that you receive your orders promptly. It also helps us to identify you, and to respond to any enquiries that you may have, and where necessary, to comply with a legal or regulatory obligation. From time to time, we may send you an email to keep you up to date with our product range, unless you decline our invitation to do so when your account is set up. You may, at any time, request that your name is removed from the list of people who receive this information.

Processing your data

The availability of the data we hold is strictly controlled.

Information that we need in order to fulfil our contractual obligations to you is accessible only to staff who are employed by the company who need to ensure that we are providing a smooth and professional service in the running of your account, and carrying out your instructions on a timely basis.

Because we are a small company, the number of staff involved is kept to a minimum.

Disclosure of information to third parties

We will not sell your personal data.

We will only disclose such information where you have provided your express consent, or when there is a contractual requirement to disclose data eg carriers who deliver your orders, or where we are under a duty to share your information in order to comply with a legal obligation, or to protect the rights, property or safety of Trident Racing Supplies.

Retention of your personal data

We retain your data only for so long as we deem necessary in order to carry out the needs of running your account on an ongoing basis. Arrangements for the disposal of paper and electronic records have been established.

Cookies

We use cookies to give our website improved functionality, and enable us to monitor how our website is used. If you do not wish to receive cookies, these can be turned off in your browser, although this may give you a less satisfactory experience of our website.

Your rights

Trident Racing Supplies will respond to a request for access to your personal data without delay. Access will be provided, subject to legally permitted exceptions, within a maximum of one month.

If you wish to verify, update or amend your personal data, please let us know.

If a data breach is likely to result in a risk to the rights and freedoms of individuals, it must be reported to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) within 72 hours of Trident Racing Supplies becoming aware of it. Individuals will be informed directly in the event that the breach is likely to result in a high risk to the rights and freedoms of that individual.
